: Caterpillar 966C loader being pulled from the bottom of Galena Bay during a deepwater salvage operation, Upper Arrow Lake, 13 February 1982. Three loaders belonging to Ed Homis of Nakusp had fallen from a barge into the middle of Upper Arrow Lake more than 200 metres below the surface. The machines had to be dragged slowly along the bottom of the lake by a barge to counteract the massive suction at that water level
