Notes:
Freight and passengers meeting SS Beaton docked at Galena landing north of Galena Bay across Upper Arrow Lake from Arrowhead townsite (in background), winter, ca. 1928-1948. Notes on rear: 'Sandbars are to the far left of the picture. The Beaton was always out ahead of the Minto at Arrowhead. You can see the channel over to Arrowhead from Galena Bay landing. The Minto's channel was at the far end of the picture (toward Cottonwood island) and it would meet the Beaton channel close to the wharf. The channel to Beaton is seen to the right of Galena dock. Horses brought supplies over the hump from Galena Bay to meet the Beaton boat.'
