Charlie Wanstall pond, northeast corner of 4th Avenue NW & 2nd Street NW, between 19 and 24 August 1977. The spring feeding this pond was erroneously tapped into, creating a sinkhole that swallowed the neighbouring Kal Tire property in August 1977. The pond was soon removed and the land converted to residential lots.
