Lascelles house at Oatscott. Notes from Milton Parent: 'Lascelles, Oatscott. Owned by Alex Christie, sold to W.T. Lascelles. He was a remittance man about 1898. Brother-in-law to Princess Mary? He built house. Burned down, property sold to Stacks in 1912. Celgar bought in 1960s.' Notes from Arrow Lakes News: 'This picture of the old Lascelles house was sent to us by Eleanor J. Murton (Mrs. Henry Murton) of Vernon, who has just received her copy of "Whistle Stops Along the Columbia River Narrows". She said the house was mentioned in the book without a picture and thought readers might be interested in seeing it as it was. The history book is still available at $30 at the Arrow Lakes News.'
