Trout Lake townsite in winter, ca. 1900s. Notes from Milton Parent: 'Trout Lake City at a seldom seen angle. In the back, starting from the centre is the Anglican Church (snow on chimney). Next is the old school and beside it the new school. In the next row is Crawford's house (2nd), then Shepherd's Bakery. (This was originally John Hunter's and was called the Vienna Bakery in 1897). Straight across from the old school is the jail and next to it, the Recording Office. Just the front of the Trout Lake City Hotel with its "snowcatcher" is visible on the far right. In the foreground is Andy Craig's office and harness shed. The large house belonged to Herb Christie–the local butcher.'
