Amos LaRue (front centre) with Herridge family in front of Nakusp Hot Springs bathhouse, 1928. TOP (l-r): Heather Herridge, Ray Houdayer, Eileen Herridge, Diana Herridge, Josephine Houdayer, Rene Houdayer. Notes from Bert Herridge : 'Mr. Amos LaRue was the first caretaker. He came from Rossland. Bert found him dead on the trail in early Oct 1933, when he was going up the trail to find out why he had not come down to Nakusp at the end of Sept. Bert went back to the ranch and got a couple of men to make a stretcher out of poles and sacking to carry him out to the end of the road.'
