Large group of sheep being herded across street, Burton townsite, 1934. The herd belonged to Marion Eppard and family, who left southeastern Saskatchewan in 1933 and herded between 500 and 600 sheep across western Canada until they arrived in the Okanagan, spending the winter of 1934-3 at Lavington and eventually purchasing 15 miles north of Kelowna on the west side of Okanagan Lake.
