: Kinsmen Club of Nakusp members dressed as Vikings atop parade float, Kinsmen Convention parade, Nelson, May 1959. Photo found on page 29 of Kinette Club of Nakusp scrapbook Kinship. Caption: ‘The second voyage was 1st of July parade of that same year, with an ample crew mastering her on both events. We, the wives of the Vikings (we weren’t Kinettes then) were dressed as their Maidens, or Viking girls. The work of making all these costumes was done by the Kinsmen wives. A lot of fun went along with the work, besides getting to know all the wives of the Kinsmen. Most high compliments paid to us everywhere we sailed!’
