Postcard showing group gathered at Kaslo train station for trip to Sandon, Kaslo & Slocan Railway, 25 May 1896. Caption: 'The train is decorated as it sets out from Kaslo on a trip to Sandon, to bring people to Kaslo's annual Queen Victoria's Birthday celebration. The K&S Railway was a narrow gauge railway, built in 1895, to bring out ore from the mines of the Slocan and Sandon.'. Postcard given to historian Bill Laux of Fauquier by Margret Fehling and Richard Eichenauer, also of Fauquier, on 28 February 2000, one day before Laux's birthday. Inscription: 'Best wishes dem Burgherrn Laux zum Geburtstag. May there soon be a railway connection to your castle so that yet more good luck can be delivered right to your door step. All the best from Margret und Richard.'
