Notes:
Debris adjacent to Nakusp & Slocan (Canadian Pacific) Railway crossing in front of Silversmith Mine mill following washout at Sandon, June 1933. The washout was caused by a slide of debris from the Silversmith Mine that emptied into Carpenter Creek via Sandon Creek, plugging the flume containing Carpenter Creek through downtown Sandon underneath Main Street and leaving debris strewn throughout the town. Flume is in foreground. Slocan Star mine aerial tramway towers in background. Jack Wilson's cabin at back left. Elevated flume running through centre is for tailings from Ruth-Hope Mine mill to be deposited into Carpenter Creek. The high trestle behind it once supported the penstock for the Ruth mill hydroelecric plant.
