Caption from 2 August 1978 edition of the Arrow Lakes News: 'Tests are being made this week on the pipes under the cement floor of the burned Nakusp & District Sports Centre. Here the header pipes can be seen in fairly good shape while the brine pipes appear to be melted. Tests will determine whether or not the pipes and slab can be salvaged.'
